Privacy Policy
Last updated: 5 May 2026
CoParent (“we”, “our”, “the app”) is a private coordination app built for two-parent households. This policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and your rights.
Data we collect
To provide the service we collect:
- Account details — your name, email address, and authentication identifier.
- Household data you enter — children’s names, schools, activities, custody rota, events, requests, and notes.
- If you connect Google — email messages matching school/activity senders (read-only) and calendar events we create on your behalf.
- Voice input — if you tap the microphone to dictate an event, message, or note, your speech is transcribed to text. Audio is processed by your device’s speech recognition service (Apple on iOS) and is not stored by CoParent. Only the resulting text is saved, and only where you submit it.
- Shared images — if you use the iOS share sheet to send an image into CoParent (a screenshot, a photo from your library, a receipt, an invitation), the image is uploaded to your household’s private storage and sent to Anthropic Claude for one-shot content classification (is it a receipt, an event invite, a casual family photo, etc). Anthropic does not retain the image or use it to train their models. The classified image is then shown to you in the inbox so you can confirm what it should become (a moment, a money request, a calendar event, or a to-do).
- Push notification token — if you enable notifications, your device’s APNs token is stored so we can send you alerts about new events and proposals from your co-parent. The token contains no personal content.
- Technical logs — basic app usage logs for debugging and service reliability.
How we use it
Your data is used solely to operate CoParent for your household:
- Coordinating the custody calendar between the two parents in your household.
- Surfacing school emails and activity schedules.
- Generating AI suggestions (via Anthropic’s Claude API) about rota changes, school events, and request drafting.
We do not sell your data, show ads, or share it with third-party advertisers.
Who can see your data
Only the two parents in your household can see household data. CoParent staff access is strictly limited to debugging at your request or as required by law.
Sub-processors
We use the following services to run CoParent:
- Google Firebase — authentication, database, file storage.
- Railway — hosting.
- Anthropic — AI-generated suggestions and concierge responses.
- Google APIs — Gmail (read-only) and Calendar, only with your explicit consent.
- Apple — speech-to-text transcription when you use in-app dictation, and push notification delivery via APNs.
Your rights
You can request a copy of your data, correction of any inaccurate information, or deletion of your household at any time. Email privacy@coparent.day to make a request.
Children
CoParent is intended for use by parents. We do not knowingly collect data directly from children. Names, ages, and school information about children are provided by parents and kept within the household only.
Changes
We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be communicated in the app.
